Updates from Green Bay Meeting – 9/13/2016

Update from Don Noskowiak of B2B CFO

“[A] great showing  with 17 attending to hear the presentation on the new FLSA OT requirements. We had several first time attendees to the group…Mark Pucci, Colliers International; All Wells, Variant Productions and Craig Cummings, Hawkpoint Technologies. Welcome to you all,  thanks for attending and thanks to those that extended the invitation!

Dianre Biersteker, Human Resources Consulting and Ross Kornowski, Gerbers Law led our group in a discussion of the new OT requirements under the FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act) which will take effect December 1, 2016. In essence, the new minimum, wage base to pay OT to any employee has been increased $47,476. If any employees receive less than the new base, OT is required to be paid unless the employee meets very strict definitions of duties which permit them to be exempt from OT. As with most regulations, the rules are complex and enforcement is strict and can be costly to the employer if they don’t comply. I am attaching the outline of their presentation and a list of guidelines for your reference. Please reach out to Diane or Ross with any direct questions. Thanks to both Diane and Ross for a very well done presentation!
