Update from Milwaukee Meeting – 4/19/17

Amazing meeting last night for the Milwaukee chapter, hosted by Milwaukee Brewing Company, and sponsored by chapter member Cate Heerey’s law firm, Rose & deJong. Jim McCabe, Milwaukee Brewing Company founder, talked about the state of the brewing industry both locally and nationally. He also presented a video of their new location, scheduled to begin renovations this month.

A rooftop patio run by the restaurant's operator will have an area for lawn games, and a skylight that will light up the main corridor in the building's interior.

We had over a dozen members attend, but your faithful secretary was too geeked out about the beer to remember to bring name badges or collect business cards. I guess our only reminder of the event will have to be the bottles of the rare gin-barrel-aged Imperial Wit-style beer we were able to acquire. Oh well!

Please watch for an upcoming announcements for future meetings.

Update from Milwaukee Meeting – 3/15/17

We had 11 attendees including new attendee James Bannantine with Geosyntec Consultants. Thank you to Marie Venne for extending the invitation.

Our presentation by Marie Venne of Environmental Resources Management was an overview of the Keystone XL pipeline from an environmental impact perspective. She had developed the presentation recently as her Master’s thesis and it provided an interesting overview of much of the oil industry which is not commonly understood. Given the recent focus on the project in the news, the presentation was timely and very informative. The presentation can now be found under our Past Presentations page.

Our upcoming meeting on April 19th will be held at Milwaukee Brewing Company at 5 PM. The tour and conversation is being sponsored and coordinated by Cate Heerey of Rose deJong law firm. Please join us for an update by one of the more exciting and successful breweries in Milwaukee.

Our May meeting will return to our normal schedule and will feature a presentation by Tim Stewart of DeWitt Ross Stevens on ESOP opportunities.
